Facebook Lite App

Facebook has come up with Facebook Lite App for low end Android devices. It is designed specially for users with poor-quality mobile Internet connections in emerging markets.
A spokesman told AFP in an email that the "Facebook Lite" Android app is designed "for people on 2G (second-generation) connections or in areas of limited Internet accessibility."
The size of the app is less than 1MB ( around 252KB), the app is currently available in just eight countries in Africa and Asia: Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. It also works on devices running Android 2.2.
